The typical way a cue is recorded is to set all fixtures to their desired states, then use the [RECORD] key to add a new cue to the end of the current cuelist. If no other options are needed, [RECORD] [RECORD] or [RECORD] [ENTER] will record the cue immediately with the default recording options as shown in the Side Bar Cue List.
[RECORD] [CUE] will allow additional modifiers to be entered on the command line as described below:
A list of softkeys to aid in setting options is displayed above the command line. The numbers correspond to the console shortcut keys.
The options may be selected by tapping on the buttons or pressing the corresponding shortcut key on the console. The options are:
- Record Mode – Allows the selection of a record mode other than the default. A new list of shortcuts is presented with choices of Live, Selected, Active, Changed. Note: The Record Mode may be selected directly by repeated presses of the [CUE] key.
- Tracking Mode – Allows the selection of a tracking mode other than the default. A new list of shortcuts is presented with the choices of Track, Cue Only, Cue Only (INT)/TRK (ATT), Track Back, Track Scene. Note: The Tracking Mode may be selected directly by repeated presses of the [TRACKING OPTIONS] key.
- SUB – Do not record levels controlled by submasters.
- TEXT – Enter a description of the cue using the alphanumeric keyboard. This is equivalent to pressing the [EDIT] key on the console. Note: This should be the last option on the command line, since everything entered after that is treated as text.
- BLOCK – Presents a list of block flags that may be applied to the cue. The choices are: Block, Smart Block, Unblock. Note: Block & Smart Block may be set directly by pressing the [BLOCK] key once or twice, respectively. Use [SHIFT] [BLOCK] ‘UNBLOCK’ to remove either type of block.
- MARK – Presents a list of mark flags that may be applied to the cue. The choices are: Mark, Mark Early, Unmark.
- FX (#) – Adds the specified effect to the cue.
In addition, cue times may be set by pressing the [TIME] key. Multiple time values may be entered by repeated pressing of the [TIME] key. See Cue Timing for more detail.
A description of the cue may be added by pressing the [EDIT]] key and typing in the desired description using the alphanumeric keyboard followed by the [ENTER] key. Note that this completes the command, so it must be the last option on the command line.
[RECORD] [CUE] (#) records a cue with a specific number rather than incrementing from the last cue. If the cue number already exists, a warning message will be displayed with the choice to overwrite the cue or not.
[RECORD] (cuelist #) [CUE] ‘/’ [ENTER] – or – [RECORD] [SHIFT] + [CUE] ‘CUELIST’ (#) [ENTER] records the next sequential cue in the specified cuelist.
Substituting [UPDATE] for [RECORD] in the commands above can be used to update (edit) a cue. There are some additional update commands:
(channel list) [UPDATE] [CUE] (#) [ENTER] – Update the specified cue with current levels of the channels in the list only.
[UPDATE] [NEXT/LAST] ‘#’ [ENTER] – Places the next or previous cue on the command line for updating. Repeated presses of the [NEXT] or [LAST] key will increase or decrease the cue number.
Some modifications to existing cues may be made directly by starting the command line with [CUE] (#), which displays a list of softkeys above the command line.
The options may be selected by tapping on the buttons or pressing the corresponding shortcut key on the console. The options are:
- TEXT – Allows the addition of a description for the specified cue.
- BLOCK - Presents a list of block flags that may be applied to the cue. The choices are: Block, Smart Block, Unblock.
- MARK – Presents a list of mark flags that may be applied to the cue. The choices are: Mark, Mark Early, Unmark.
- SCENE BREAK (text) – Creates a scene break line in the cue list and inserts it after the specified cue.
- FX (#) – Adds the specified effect to the cue. [-] (#) removes the specified effect.
- SC (#) – Adds the specified shortcut to the cue. [-] (#) removes the specified shortcut.
- EXECUTE (command) - A simple command can be entered that will be executed when the cue is run. The command will appear in the “Macro” column of the Cue List window. Multiple simple commands can be entered by separating each with a semicolon. Execution will be immediate when the cue is run. However, the command could be delayed by entering a “Sleep” command as the first to be executed (Example: sleep 4;12/24@50 – wait 4 seconds, then set channels 12 through 24 to 50%). Note: [CUE] [MACRO] will place ‘EXECUTE’ directly on the command line.
- / - Used when the target cue is in a cue list other the current active list. Can be selected by tapping on the button or using the [CUE] (cue list #) [CUE] (cue #) method.
