Once a channel or channels is/are selected, any values may be changed by the following methods:
Level Wheel – The sensitivity of the wheel is settable in System Properties>System Settings.
Mouse Wheel – If you have a mouse with a center wheel connected to the console, you can use its wheel in a similar manner.
[@] (level) [ENTER] – Sets the specified level. If “Command Line Single Digit Entry” in System Properties>System Settings is “On”, a single digit level will be multiplied by 10 (Example: [@] [3] [ENTER] results in a level of 30% being set). Also, there’s a switch labelled “Two Digit Entry” that when “On”, completes the command without needing the [ENTER] key.
- ([ON] | [FULL] | [OUT]) – Sets the selected channels to the “ON”, “FULL” or “OUT” level. The “ON” level is settable in System Properties>System Settings (the default is 100%).
- ([UP] | [DOWN]) – Increases or decreases the level of the selected channels by the “Up/Down Level” settable in System Properties>System Settings.
- [COPY] ‘COPY FROM’ (channel list) [ENTER] – Sets the selected channels to the values in the channel list. [NEXT] & [LAST] can be used in place of the channel list.
- [SHIFT] + [@] ‘@ DMX’ (value) [ENTER] – Treats the value as a DMX level in the range of 0 – 255. The channel will show the level in the nearest percent value from 0 – FL.
- [@] [CUE] (#) [ENTER] – Set the selected channel(s) level(s) to those stored in the specified cue. If [CUE] (#) not specified, set the levels to those of the current cue. Also, [NEXT] & [LAST] can be used in place of the cue # to step forward or backward through the cue list.
- [@] [CUE] (#) [THRU] (#) – Set the selected channel(s) level(s) to the first cue in the range specified that has a value.
- [@] ([GROUP | SUB]) (#) [ENTER] – Set the selected channel levels to those stored in the specified Group or Submaster. Only the channels stored in the group or submaster and also selected will be affected.
- [@] [ENTER] – Removes submaster control of any channels in the list.
- [@] [THRU] (value) [ENTER] – Adjusts the current levels by using the specified value as a percentage (Example: If the current level is 70, [@] [THRU] [5] [0] [ENTER] would set the level to 35.
- [@] (level 1) [THRU] (level 2) – Assigns values to the selected channels in a linear fashion. The increment between channels in determined by ((level 2 – level 1) / # channels in channel list).
- [@] (level 1) [THRU] (level 2) [THRU] (level 3) – Similar to above but sets center channel to level 3 and distributes levels on either side accordingly (i.e. creates ‘Peaks & Valleys’).
- [DIMMER] (#) [@] (level) will assign the selected dimmer to the specified level. A flag (“Dimmers Unpatch”) appears on bottom right of the Main Display. [DIMMER] [DIMMER] will restore all dimmer levels back to normal control.
Examples:
- [1] [THRU] [1][2] [@] [5][0] [ENTER] – Sets channels 1-12 at 50%.
- [1] [THRU] [1][2] [ON] – Sets channels 1-12 to the “On Level” specified in System Properties>System Settings.
- [UP] [UP] – Increases the level of the selected channels by the “Up/Down Level” for each press of the [UP] key, in this case 2 x “Up/Down Level”.
- [1][4] [COPY] ‘COPY FROM’ [2] [ENTER] – Sets channel 14’s level to the current value in channel 2.
- [1] [SHIFT] + [@] ‘@ DMX’ 64 [ENTER] – Set channel 1 to a DMX level of 64 (equivalent to 25%).
- [3] [THRU] [7] [@] [CUE] [4] [ENTER] – Set channels 3-7 to the values stored in Cue 4 (from the cue list in the Master Playback) for those channels.
- [1] [THRU] [1][0] [@] [10] [THRU] [1][0][0] [ENTER] – Starting with channel 1 @ 10% and ending with channel 10 @ 100%, set channels 3-9 to incrementally increasing values evenly spaced. Thus, channel 3 would be set to 20%, 4 to 30%, etc.
When the value of any parameter of a channel or fixture is set using the following commands, it is said to be under channel control which (usually) overrides any other control that may be applied (cue, submaster, etc.). Channels will return to their former levels when some action causes them to be released.
