Palettes
Updated by Edward
Palettes displays a grid of all the palettes that have been defined separated by palette type. The type to be displayed is selected by clicking one of the tabs along the top. Below is an example of displaying the defined Color palettes.
The Page Up, Page Down buttons may be used display more palettes if they have been defined.
The Detach button may be used to create a separate window that then may be dragged to a second monitor and added to an advanced layout.
Apply Palette… This is a two-position switch with the following options:
Apply palette to selection only – When a group or palette button is clicked, only the fixtures that are currently selected in the channel display are affected.
The alternative is Apply palette to all channels (shown above). If this option is selected, then when a palette button is clicked, all the channels recorded into it are set to the values stored regardless whether any channels are selected.
When this option is selected, a new switch appears below it. One position is Don’t auto select and the other is Select fixtures after applying palette.
Options
The options that are available vary depending on which group/palette tab is currently selected. The following options appear for all tabs:
- Use 3D buttons – Default: Off. 3D buttons have a shaded appearance and are generally sharper than the normal buttons. Turn this feature off if you experience slow response in painting the window.
- Set fixed font size – Default: Auto Size. Sets the size of the button legends. Auto Size adjusts the font to fit the label for each button.
- Set grid size – Default: 10x10. Controls the number of buttons appearing in each grid.
- Skip unused palettes – Removes any numbered boxes that are blank for a cleaner looking grid. This is a toggle switch, so clicking it again will restore the blank boxes.
The following option appears for all tabs except “Generics”:
- Virtual Palettes Active – If this option is checked, values stored in the group or palette can be applied to any selected channels whether recorded in the group/ palette or not.
The following option appears when the “Color” tab is selected:
- Create full color page – Adds any show-defined colors from the color picker.
The following options appear when the “Generics” tab is selected:
- Create default show colors – Creates a set of palettes with some basic colors and adds them to the “Show” tab of the standard color picker.
- Clear page – When clicked, will display a confirming dialog. If you answer “Yes”, all the palettes on the current page will be deleted.
