Adding an Effect

Edward Updated by Edward

The NEO software contains a library of effects that can be applied in Live with parameters that can be adjusted and then incorporated into a cue. In addition, the software has an extensive effects engine that can be programmed using the Effects Editor, plus independent Playbacks.

Here is an example of adding a running effect to a cue. This is a simple color chase applied to the cells of the LED strip (Channel 11).

[GOTO] [2] [ENTER] – Run Cue 2 which puts it in live on stage.

[1][1][.][1] [THRU] [1][1][.][1][2] [ENTER] – Select the 12 cells of the LED strip light.

Tap “Fx Library” button in top row of Main Display. A drop-down list of library effects will be displayed. For this example, choose Fx 20 (“Color: Rainbow Chase”). The effect will start running.

A new tab labelled “Library Fx Control” will be displayed in the Side Bar Cue List:

These controls are also loaded into the encoder wheels (Note: The level wheel operates the “Cluster” control). Adjust these controls to tune the effect as desired. Holding down the [SHIFT] key and pressing an encoder will restore defaults.

[UPDATE] [UPDATE] – Add a trigger for the running effect to the cue. The effect is stored in the show file and assigned a number. A flag with the label “FX-#” is shown in the Side Bar Cue List. When the cue is executed, the effect will run.
