Magic Sheets

The magic sheet view is a free form that by default has nothing on it. Before using this view, you must place fixtures in the desired locations. Once you have placed fixtures on the form you can then control them by selecting them in the same way as the grid view.
By default, the layout view is in control mode, meaning it is expecting the user wants to control and modify the fixtures’ outputs. To add or remove fixtures and change their positions, click on the EDIT tab whose legend will change to HIDE. During an edit session, you cannot select fixtures for control as your mouse is now used to move the fixtures where you want. To return to control mode, click the HIDE tab.
When placed on the layout window, each fixture is represented by a symbol of the fixture, its channel number, name and the current intensity level. If the fixture is an intelligent fixture, the position and color is shown also. The symbol shown is defined by the Fixture Type in the patch window. If no type is specified, the fixture is assumed to be a standard dimmer.
In addition to fixtures, other features such as matrices, text boxes, group & shortcut buttons, simple figures and a background picture may be placed in the view.
Just above the layout panel (black area of the window) is a tool bar that is used to edit the layout and insert fixtures & other features onto the view.
The following screen capture shows a magic sheet in edit mode and illustrates the fixture symbols available to create layouts:
