This option allows you to merge incoming DMX sources with outgoing universes.
Click the “Add” button to define a new mapping between incoming and outgoing universes and fill in the following fields:
- Device/Protocol – Choose a device or network protocol from the drop-down list.
- Port/Universe – Some device options have several output ports available. Each port is a separate DMX universe. In the case of USB hardware this will refer to a physical connector on the device. For Ethernet hardware the number of ports can be as many as the protocol supports. Enter the incoming port or universe for this device/protocol.
- Network Interface - When using any of the Ethernet based protocols you may need to configure the network interface that the software will use to communicate with the DMX system. By default, the system will be set to output to all available network interfaces. However, if you want to restrict the output to a specific device, use the Network Interface drop-down provided. A network interface is identified by the IP address to which it is bound.
- Merge Universe – Enter the output universe that this incoming DMX packet will merge with.
- Merge Behavior – Choose the behavior from the drop-down list. The choices are:
- None – Set this option to suspend the merging of input with output for this device.
- HTP – Highest takes precedence.
- Build – Add input to output up to the maximum value (DMX 255).
- ITP – Input takes precedence. Output follows input as soon as input goes above 0.

Clicking on this button displays the screen above. This is a grid showing the DMX addresses for a whole universe (512 addresses). This grid allows you to select a subset of input addresses to merge with the output universe.
To include an address, click on a green cell in the grid and it will turn red. You can select a number of cells by clicking & dragging. In the example above, incoming addresses 5-12 & 35-42 will be merged with the corresponding addresses in output universe 4.
To remove an address, click on a red cell and it will turn back to green.
If you wish to merge the entire incoming universe, you can click on the “ALL” button. This button is a toggle, so successive clicks will select and unselect all addresses.
Description – A free-form field in which you could enter text.
Delete – Click this button to remove an entry from the list.
